Home-Style Baked Bean Casserole

Home-Style Baked Bean Casserole
Prep Time: 15 minutes. Start to Finish: 40 minutes. Serves 6
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 21 oz can baked beans with bacon and brown sugar sauce, undrained (substitute ½ brown sugar and baked beans with bacon)
1 16oz can kidney beans, drained,  rinseed
1 15.8oz can great northern beans, drained, rinsed (substitute lima beans, or white kidney beans)
¾ cup barbecue sauce
1 10.2oz can homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, separated and each cut into 6 pieces (substitute 2 can of regular biscuits and just used 1 ½ cans, and do not cut)
½ cup cheddar cheese, if desired

Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Spray 11x7-inch (2 quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray
In a 12 inch nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 4 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain
Stir in baked beans (and brown sugar if substituting), kidneys beans, great northern beans (or substituted bean), and barbecue sauce
Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally
Pour into baking dish, immediately top hot mixture with biscuits; sprinkle with cheese (if desired)
Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and baked through
