Easy Deep-Dish Pizza Pie

Easy Deep-Dish Pizza Pie
Prep Time: 25 minutes. Start to Finish: 1 hour and 20 minutes. Serves 4
Ingredients:
¾ pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
½ cup pizza pie
1 can refrigerated crusty French loaf
2 cups shredder Italian cheese blend (8 oz)
1 package pepperoni slices
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 egg
1 tablespoon water

Directions:
Heat oven to 375; spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray
In a 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir in ½ cup pizza sauce until well mixed
Carefully unroll dough in pie plate so edges extend over sides. Pat dough in bottom and up sides of plate, leaving dough extended over sides. Spoon beef mixture into crust, and top with 1 cup of the cheese, the pepperoni and remaining 1 cup cheese sprinkle with Italian seasoning
In a small bowl, slightly beat egg and water. Fold extended edges of dough up and over filling, leaving center of pie open. Brush crust with egg mixture
Bake on bottom oven rack 35 to 40 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cover edges with foil to prevent over browning. Cool 15 minutes and cut into 8 wedges; serve with additional pizza sauce
